I had a friend once give me a simple definition of worship: Recognizing who God is, and responding to it appropriately. This is the heart of our summer message series, MAGNIFY: Recognition & Response.
Psalm 34:3 says, “Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”
I love the wording of MAGNIFYING (making bigger, clearer) and EXALTING (placing higher, greater regard) of GOD in our hearts and minds. When we look at who GOD is proclaimed to be through the lens of the book of Psalms we get a myriad of interpretations.
The psalmists approach GOD in HIS GLORY, yet still their humanity is allowed to bleed through. So what we get are writers who are like you and I in the highest of highs and the lowest of lows–yet, they have the presence of mind to recognize Who GOD is and respond to it appropriately, anchored in the HOPE only GOD can give.
We Invite YOU to join us in June and July as we discover Who GOD is, and how beckons us to respond in His Hope!
